Vail Resorts Inc. -- operator of Colorado's Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone and Beaver Creek ski mountains -- put its 2011-2012 season passes on sale Tuesday.
For the first time, passes offered by the Broomfield-based company (NYSE: MTN) now include its newly acquired north Lake Tahoe resort, Northstar-at-Tahoe, as well as Heavenly at south Tahoe.
The company's popular Colorado Pass, now known as the Epic Local Pass, is on sale for $499. Last season's equivalent pass was offered for $449.
The pass includes unlimited ski and snowboard access at Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin as well as 10 restricted days at Vail or Beaver Creek and limited days at Heavenly and Northstar-at-Tahoe.
The 2011-2012 version of the Summit Pass is called the Summit Value Pass, offering access to Vail Resorts' Summit County ski areas. The price stays at last season's $409, but this year's pass has "limited restrictions" on Breckenridge access, with a Breckenridge lift ticket on restricted days offered for $50. It also offers full access to Keystone and Arapahoe Basin.
